I wish many of the state governors would also review and release the incredible numbers of non-violent criminals behind bars. I would also hope that citizens at large might find ways to employ and perhaps train those individuals released from prison(s)? It is extremely difficult to pass the initial job application review if you check-off “previously arrested”, much less the checked doom box “convicted of a felony”. For some reason, perhaps it’s a reflection of the decades long campaign by politicians and those in the media seeking another sensational story, it appears that most Americans seem to turn a blind eye to those who have been arrested, convicted and served their time behind bars not to mention paying those mandatory fines, and deem those people as unworthy. For millions of Americans, regardless of political party affiliation, the court mandated sentence(s) is not believed to be punishment enough for people who break the law, therefore, the anticipated wide-spread successful reintegration into society of those that receive a ‘second chance’ will be very difficult and individually spotty at best.
