Where do you should put comma on your sentence ?
You put comma when you mention more than two items
e.g : I ate apple, banana and cucumber
When using little conjunction ( and, but, or, nor, yet, so ) to join two independent clauses which is called compound sentence with conjunction, but what is independent clause?. Independent clause is the sentence that composed of subject + verb.
e.g: Cindy came home late last night, and she spent long time in shower.
Otherwise if you have only one independent clause you must not use comma.
e.g: Cindy came home late last night and spent long time in shower.
Where do you should put semi colon on your sentence ?
When using transition;
therefore, however, in addition, thus,
furthermore, similarly, otherwise, then, nonetheless, also.
to join to independence clauses, this is called compound sentence with transition. but we need to put comma after our transition word.
e.g: John lose his job; however, he will find one.
e.g 2. : The teacher checked our homework; then, she gave us a new assignment.
there is one type of compound sentence when we use semicolon only, and we use that when the two independent clause is very related.
e.g : Susan is very healthy; she usually walk to work.
e.g 2 : The music was loud; everyone was dancing.
