Hangul (Korean) characters can be seen here and there, but for some reason, there are Chinese characters to be seen as well. All that funny Asian writing is all the same, isn’t it?

Korean was written in hanja (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanja), or Chinese hanzi adapted for Korean, before it was written in hangul (in fact, hangul was invented some 400–500 years before it was fully adopted), and it’s still in use in various contexts to this day.
