Over the past four years of being an owner of Apple’s M1 Macbook Air, I have been able to get an in-depth experience of the latest Apple processors that have revolutionized the entire laptop industry. For over a decade, Apple’s macs have been easy to use: incredibly capable computers. Now, with the innovations of the new Apple Silicon technology, apple machines are more compelling than ever.

This new architecture gives users class leading performance in a thin and light notebook that you can take on the go. This custom apple silicon chip incorporates an SoC package (System-on-a-Chip), making the machines capable of operating efficiently at all times. For over 10 years now, Apple has been using SoC’s on iPhones and iPads, refining this technology so that they could eventually put the chips in a laptop.

Because of this innovation, Apple even went above and beyond and made a bold decision to remove a fan from the macbook that I have. With everything from building applications to attending virtual meetings, my M1 machine was able to breeze through it without slowing down. When I tested a professional workload to get an idea of how much power my macbook had, this computer was able to both video and photo edit simultaneously.

Although some competitors may suggest that you need an iPad alongside a macbook to get full functionality of the macbook, these arguments are not accurate because they are assuming that people want a laptop that is also a tablet. A survey conducted by the UNDP suggests that only 8 percent of individuals actually want a 2 in 1 laptop.

Just last month, I had also traveled with my M1 Macbook Air to India. Throughout my entire journey, with countless hours of using the train and flying from one city to the other, I never had to plug in my computer to an outlet, even while developing intensive-code. This is all because of the apple silicon chip consuming less than 15 watts of power. With this, it has finally created a world for people to go out without their computer charger.

As we enter a new era where technology advances every minute and innovations are limitless, Apple’s huge breakthrough in the entire chip industry has shook the entire PC industry. To this date, Apple continues to advance on this technology. This October, Apple announced the new M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, built entirely on the ARM M1 architecture, which allows specific pro-users to get the performance they need. Whether you think it’s worth it for you or not, Apple, staying ahead of the chip market and revolutionizing the entire industry, these computers are going to be the best value for your money!
