If you know better, do better.
The extra mile is just an extra step
The number of times I’ve thought of something, not done it, and beat myself up after is outrageous.
Last week I sent my brother an old iPod. Looking around the house for something to pack it in I thought, “This thing will get trashed in an envelope. I should find a box.”
Naturally, I decided to bubble wrap it in a pre-stamped envelope instead (just for the stamp) and ship it off.
Tonight he texts me, “[It’s] completely crushed like a car ran over it.”
I wouldn’t feel so bad if I hadn’t thought this through already. Just like the time I didn’t back up my hard drive; the time I left my flute on top of my car; the time I “forgot” to invite some of my best college friends to our wedding.
