Treating people like leads instead of humans just doesn’t work. It doesn’t sell. It doesn’t push you to any level of success. You want to suck at marketing or sales? Dehumanise your prospects. And dehumanise your interactions with them.

This is solid gold Jon! I couldn’t agree more with you. I think we often forget how this world of automating all of this social media can sure save time but it can also leave a icky taste in the recipients mouth. We aren’t just machines — we have hearts and we are breathing. So, don’t fucking treat me like a robot with a generic DM. I personally would much rather you not even engage than try and seem like you “care.”

I get the reason for automating but I just don’t value it personally. I choose to take the time to be the one that engages. I think people just need to get clear on what and how they truly want to be seen in the world. If you are down with the icky automating of communication go for it but I won’t be reading your DM’s or automated anything.
