1%er Writes Open Letter To Mayor About How He Has To See Poor People
Ester Bloom

Last night I went out to dinner with my husband and his parents in the South End of Boston. The restaurant we chose was fairly spendy (came to $150 for the four of us for several tapas and a round of drinks) but lovely. A warm and cozy place, with a perfectly dimly lit interior.

But directly across the street was the horrible housing project LS and her family lived in when I first met them. All concrete and tiny windows. It is awful. AWFUL. But I would never have known that place if I had never known them and my life is infinitely better for having them in it.
