No one is more shocked that we won than I am. We offered $15K over asking and thought it couldn’t possibly be enough. And I guess technically it wasn’t — someone was apparently willing to pay 5% over whatever the top bid was but the listing agent really disliked him and liked us and knew the seller personally, so she convinced him to go with us? Or so our broker claims. But he is friends with the listing agent, so I don’t really have any reason to not believe him. I don’t know. I remain flabbergasted it was not an actual bidding war.
