When someone asks, “what’s the move?”

Virgil joking around at his “Figures of Speech” exhibition

Place

Exhibiting at The Museum of Contemporary Arts in Chicago is Virgil Abloh’s “Figures of Speech”. This is the first museum exhibition devoted to the work of the genre-bending artist and designer Virgil Abloh. There are currently 7 other exhibitions on display at MCA and 2 events for this weekend. You have plenty of options to replenish your artistic side. The other temporary exhibitions: “Jonathas De Andre: One to One”, “Can you Hear Me Now?”, “Commons Artist Project: Brendan Fernandes, A Call And Response”, “Prisoner of Love, Fragments of a crucifixion”, “Atrium Project: Ellen Berkenblit”, “Chicago Works: Assaf Evron”. The 2 events are “Dahlak Brathwaithe, Try/ Step/ Trip” and the free gallery tour “Cards Against Humanity: Late Night Writer’s Room.” If you find yourself near Water Tower Place in downtown Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, this museum is a must visit.

Vibes

The museum, which was established in 1967, is one of the world’s largest contemporary art venues. Each exhibition may be composed of temporary loans, pieces from their permanent collection, or a combination of the two. “Figures of Speech” is a true homecoming story. Kanye West and Virgil crafted the blueprint of their design in Chicago, so the eyeballs are on the Chicago natives creations. Expect to see hypebeast, Louis Vuitton, Virgil, and Kanye supporters from all walks of life here. Given the current exhibits it will be as entertaining to watch the diaspora of the viewers as the actual art.
