Day Nine

Tuesday, July 5th

Today was a free day! You heard that right, we got a free day!! Most of us would probably have enjoyed sleeping the day away, but we had to check out of the hotel and hit the town by 11 AM. I went shopping with Kelsey, Madi and Jordan for a while and I bought one dress when I told myself I would buy nothing, but that’s nothing new. I’m awful with money. I would be a terrible accountant or financial advisor. I would make all my clients broke.

Oh, was also disgusted because a guy smoked a cigarette while making Kelsey’s juice. That’s gross. I hated that. If Greece has done one thing, it’s made me REALLY hate cigarettes- which I guess is a good thing?

After shopping we met up with the guys and went down to the beach. It wasn’t the most spacious and luxurious beach, but I actually really enjoyed this beach! The waters were definitely strong, though. We actually watched the coast guards have to rescue a guy who went too far out and got caught in the cliffs. I’m glad I wasn’t there with my dad, because we always swim too far out or swim out to objects and we probably would have been screwed. Thanks for not coming, dad. You helped me survive. After swimming we got lunch and I decided to treat myself to this vodka sauce pasta that was twelve Euro. Terrible decision. It wasn’t the pasta I think of, and I hated it. It was nasty. Waste of money. Kelsey got a delicious burger and I made a huge mistake here. Still a great time, though!

After this we went back to the hotel for a few hours and hung out in the hotel courtyard. Some people journaled, some caught up with friends, some people had some self-care, and Kenny was a burnt crisp. After this, we left for the ferry to go back to the mainland. This ferry was terrible and rough, but my key worked!
