Do You Need a Gym to Workout?

So, you want to start training like a SUPERHERO but don’t know where to start and don’t really want to buy a gym membership. Well, you are in luck… because you do not need a gym to get in shape. You can start getting in shape at home.

First, I want to say that if you are just intimidated by the gym, you should give it a try. I think you will find that you enjoy training in the gym if you have a workout plan in place. If you need help making a plan let me know.

Now back to what we were talking about…

Consistency is WAY more important than anything else when it comes to working out. It is far more beneficial to workout consistently 3–4 times a week then doing an intense workout once a month. Bodyweight/at home workouts free up a lot of time and give you no excuse to not workout.

Also, bodyweight exercises are extremely good for your overall health and mobility. Some people think that the only way to build strength is by going to gym (the gym is a GREAT way to build strength but not the only way). You can build strength by doing Calisthenics or HIIT or any type of bodyweight workout.

The thing you need to know…

The important thing about any workout, whether in the gym or not, is that it is getting your heart rate up and pushing your muscles to new limits. Both of which you can do at home, you may just have to do more repetitions.

Here’s the thing…

Find something you enjoy! I always say that if you don’t enjoy it, you won’t stick to it… Personally, I think the best workout plan is a mixture of lifting weights and bodyweight exercises. That’s how I enjoy to train, myself. You may like to do something different. Ultimately, the important thing is that you get moving every day.
