As a software engineer doubling as a qigong/taichi instructor, I understand your situation. Your decision to quit your tech job was remarkable. I hope it turns out for the best but I think it will be immensely harder as an artist. At some point, if your body heals and holds (please take care of yourself), you'll be faced with the question "how bad do I want this? how far am I willing to go?". Because you can set a calendar year all you want. The Heart doesn't understand about deadlines, only about dreams. Enjoy the journey. It's the only thing that matters.
