So, this is me

Hi my name is Amanda King, I am a proud Aboriginal woman and a descendant of the Paakantyi, Ngayiampaa and Wiradjuri Nations. I live in a small remote community in far west NSW called Menindee which is situated on the banks of the Darling River.
Being a mother of four amasing children is a blessing, they are my everything and everything I do is for them, even though they might not see it that way.
I am currently the Aboriginal Education Officer at Menindee Central School, it’s also the school I attended as a kid. Since being employed there and working along side the students and teachers, seeing the look on the kids faces when they achieve their personal goals is one of the reasons behind me wanting to do my teacher training. I however am very passionate about Aboriginal languages and once I complete my teacher training I would love to get my Masters degree in Aboriginal languages and help revitalise our local language.
We have a great bunch of kids at Menindee who have the potential to be whatever they want to be and if I can help them on their journey, well that would be blessing number 2.
