There is no competitive environment for broadband because of heavy regulation imposed by the gov on the broadband market that makes it very difficult for new companies to emerge and grow. And because gov is so involved, it is easier for the cronies to lobby the politicians.

If you want to have competition, you need to deregulate the broadband industry.
