Trans people like the OP always use it as an insult. Saying its not an insult is like saying spic isn’t an insult. People pretending to be a gender they are not do not deserve special treatment just as people who say they’re the gender they actually are do not. The person who wrote this article is just another lgbt desperate to be given special treatment, instead of equal rights. Literally none of the things they claim to want is something given exclusively to “cis-gendered” until this military ban. There are no laws saying we have to be addressed by “proper pronouns.” There are no laws saying a man can use the woman’s restroom. Everyone can get married to anyone of legal age. Wage discrimination against LGBT, or anyone based on religion, nationality, etc, is illegal. They pretty much have equal rights, as long as the military ban can be undone. If you don’t like the way people talk to you, 1 don’t assume it’s because you’re trans, because a lot of the “trans” people I’ve seen are incredibly obnoxious, so ask yourself first if you’re one of those. Second, if you don’t like it, tough. If I don’t like the way someone talks to me, tough for me, I need to get over it.
