  1. Hana Yori Dango (2005)
Starring: Mao Inoue, Jun Matsumoto, Shun Oguri, Shota Matsuda, Tsuyoshi Abe

Based on Manga: Hana Yori Dango by Yoko Kamio.

Synopsis:

Makino Tsukushi is a tough, hard-working, middle-class student at the prestigious escalator school Eitoku Gakuen. Initially, Makino wanted to attend Eitoku because her idol, an internationally renowned model named Todou Shizuka, was an alumna of the school. Not long after however, Makino discovers the superficial nature of her classmates. Their arrogance and her inability to relate to them because of her social status, limits her chances at making friends. Worse yet, the school is ruled by the F4 or Flower Four, composed of playboys Nishikado Soujiro and Mimasaka Akira, introverted Hanazawa Rui and violent and bratty Domyouji Tsukasa. The F4, sons of Japan’s wealthiest and most powerful tycoons, bully fellow students out of boredom or malevolence until they are expelled or quit.

2. Itazura na Kiss (2013)

Based on Manga: Itazura na Kiss by Kaoru Tada.

Synopsis:

In this romantic comedy story, a high school girl named Kotoko Aihara finally tells a fellow senior named Naoki that she has loved him from afar since she saw him on their first day of high school. However, Naoki, a hottie “super-ikemen” (handsome male) who is smart and good at sports, rejects her offhand. Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Kotoko’s family house. While the house gets rebuilt, Kotoko and her dad stay at the home of her dad’s childhood bestfriend… whose son is Naoki. Naoki eventually falls for Kotoko and starts to have romantic, protective feelings for her.

3. Good Morning Call (2016)

Starring: Haruka Fukuhara, Shunya Shiraishi, Dori Sakurada

Based on Manga: Guddo Moningu Koru by Yue Takasuka.

Synopsis:

Nao Yoshikawa stays behind to live by herself when her parents leave to inherit her grandpa’s farm in the country. On the day she moves into her new apartment, she discovers that it was rented also to Hisashi Uehara; a cute, super-cool, popular guy from her school. Not only did their housing agency unexpectedly close down, the landlord of the apartment tells them that they had to pay more for their apartment than they had expected. With no money and no home to return to, Nao and Hisashi decide to live together as flatmates.

4. Hana ni Kedamono (2017)

Starring: Yurika Nakamura, Sugino Yosuke

Based on Manga: Hana ni Kedamono by Miwako Sugiyama.

Synopsis:

Kumi is a transfer student at a prestigious high school. She meets Hyo who is handsome and kind. Kumi falls in love with him and has her first kiss with him, but Hyo is famous for being a womanizer at school. After she discovers his true side, she gets hurts, but her feelings for him doesn’t go away.

5. Takane and Hana (2019)

Starring: Mahiro Takasugi, Aisa Takeuchi

Based on Manga: Takane to Hana by Yuki Shiwasu.

Synopsis:

After her older sister refuses to go to an arranged marriage meeting with Takane Saibara, the heir to a vast business fortune, high schooler Hana Nonomura agrees to be her stand-in to save face for the family. But what happens when Hana meets Takane is an unexpected pairing of utter opposites!
