Conventional-type Hydraulic Elevator

This features an elevator pit at the base and a sheave that extends up to the floor level. The pit provides support for the piston whenever the elevator descends. Like the Roped Hydraulic Elevator, this type also has a distance capacity of up to 60 feet.

Hole-less Hydraulic Elevator

The Hole-less Hydraulic Elevator, like the conventional type, operates without a heave or hole at the bottom. Instead, it has telescoping-type pistons at the base. These pistons enable the elevator car to travel a maximum distance of up to 50 feet. Some designs incorporate non-telescoping pistons, which allow for a maximum distance of 20 feet.

These elevators operate on Pascal Theory, where the liquid is discharged into a non-deformable structure. As pressure increases, the movable stage starts moving in the direction of the applied force. Inside a hydraulic lift, there is an actuator piston that exerts minimal pressure where the inlet pressure is applied. This design allows for a significant stroke with minimal stress and makes lifting heavy machinery effective and safe.

HYDRAULIC LIFTS

Direct Hydraulic Lift

The direct hydraulic lift functions based on a simple principle: the stroke of the ram matches the lift of the cage. The setup is discreetly installed within the wall or floor. When pressure is applied, a piston or sliding ram moves in and out of the setup. The load-bearing cage is positioned on top of the sliding ram, attached to a cylinder that moves in the opposite direction of the ram — upwards and downwards. When pressure is applied, pressurized fluid is forced into the cylinder, and consecutively, the ram gets pushed upward. This movement elevates the cage and carries the load smoothly between floors.

Suspended Hydraulic Lift

The suspended hydraulic lift operates much like the direct-acting system but with an added mechanism of wire ropes, pulleys, and hydraulic jiggers. In this setup, the cage and two pulleys are connected by a wire rope, which is linked to both the sliding ram and the fixed cylinder. One pulley is stationary while the other is movable. The hydraulic jigger, essentially a moving ram within the fixed cylinder, plays a pivotal role. When pressurized fluid enters the cylinder, the ram sets the pulley system in motion. As the jigger rotates the pulleys, the wire rope helps the cage maintain pressure contact with the floor.
