There are different types of hair extensions available in the market such as pre-bonded and micro-loop which women will get confused.

Hair extensions either came from human hair or made by a synthetic hair. It can be styled and dyed like it is your hair. Hair cuticle faces the same way, and they look natural as they blend with your natural hair. Human hair pays a lot more.

On the other hand, synthetic hair extensions are coated with silicone to display a natural glossiness. These type of extensions can’t handle heat application and can’t style or dyed. They are less expensive compared to human hair since it lacks quality and of the things, we can do with them. It is not advisable to wear on a daily basis.

Here are the different types of hair extensions:

Micro link/microbead/ loop hair extensions

These hair extensions are applied by looping the extensions through a natural hair and clamping it with a pair of pliers and a metal bead. One advantage of this is extensions can move up or slip-down

The hair –shaft. It is excellent for those who don’t mind moving them up. The disadvantage of this extensions is they can result in hair breakage.

Weave Hair Extensions

This type of hair extension is advantageous for women with super thick locks as they take a lot of hair for the extensions to disguise. Applied in a unique way where the hair is braided, into a weave and the extensions are attached by using a needle and a thread of cotton. The good thing about this extensions is they can cater to all types of hair. However, if they are applied too tight, they can put a strain on your scalp and feel heavy. It is not suitable for women with thin hair.

Tape Hair Extensions

These extensions are semi-permanent. Their main appeal is they are quick and easy to put in. These are pre-taped and inserted on either side of your hair. They’re easy to maintain and easy to put-in, considered as low-quality extensions.

Pre-bonded/fusion extension

These extensions are most probably one of the most popular types of hair extensions but can be one of the most damaging because the way it is applied. These extensions bonded naturally using different adhesives like glues and keratins. The process is quite messy as many salons use polymers, the petroleum glue can damage the natural locks-ouch.
