A Grand Canyon Adventure!

My heart was aching for a new adventure; to see something I’d never seen before and connect with nature. I had 2 days off, in a row ( a real rarity these days) and I knew I had to make it happen. We jumped in the car and drove 7 hours down Route 66 to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

I’ve never seen anything so majestic in my life. In fact, I’ve never felt the need to use the adjective “majestic” before. I was swept away by this stretch of land that went on forever, seemingly untouched and unaware that there are seven billion people milling around the planet. Reminded that I am just a little spec in the stream of time, I was filled with gratitude to be part of this journey. I felt a rush of joy and courage. I felt free!

There are so many important things we can do with this window of time we are given. I could make a case for why things seem unfair; why I others have it better or have more. But I think that, ultimately, it comes down to choice. How you choose to see, how you choose to act and who you choose to be. I’m so grateful for the freedom of choice.

“In between goals is a thing called life, that has to be lived and enjoyed.” — Sid Ceasar

Now, I’ve had a soul recharge. I’m back. I’m ready. GAME ON!
