Thank you for writing this. I can really relate. I know these feelings too, but I don’t bother to talk about them anymore because absolutely no one knows what to say or do when I do talk about them (whether professional or otherwise). It’s always “get some rest” or “you don’t really mean that” or (my 86 year old parents:) “you’re nuts!” or “go for a walk” or “change your diet” or “watch cartoons.” These are all real things people have said to me, supposedly in earnest! And my GP has me on three different types of daily medications to go through the day, even though I’ve never been diagnosed with anything other than “depression” 30 years ago.

I think it’s all about survival, one day at a time. I go on for my dogs, and my goats, not for other people or even myself. I am needed and depended upon, and so I keep going ~ it’s nothing more complicated than that.
