I think what you’re also describing is service design. I’ve worked on both UX and service design projects and have found that some companies need a “UX Designer” to come in and help craft a vision for their company. Something that the C-level as well as management and employees have as a guiding principle for their company. Or else you have too many people with different ideas of what the end goal is, and it just creates chaos.
