Hello and welcome to One Minute Book Review, the show that brings books to life, I am your host Aun Abdi.

Today I will be reviewing Ideas of Illusion by Kevin Prince, a gripping novella about a man named Daniel and the unfortunate incidents that leads to the collapse of the things that were most important to him. In an increasing digitalised world, Daniel feels that the ordinary man has lost control over his freedom and is looking for saviours, such as Daniel to help them recapture this. The novella also speaks to deeper questions about our humanity, including our relationships with those that are closest with us. As in the title, these topics can blur reality and leave us feeling disillusioned between the reality of our existence and what we desire from this world. There is a strong sense of duty from Daniel that he is in a privileged position to help people, a somewhat modern day superhero, however like most superheroes has a vulnerable weakness. I rate this novella 4 out of 5 stars as the author can deliver contemporary ideas about our society and conceptualise them in a concise and thoughtful way.

This has been One Minute Book Review, thanks for reading.
