The first thing that comes into our minds when we hear Pak Vs Ind is the political history between the two countries even now both the countries are not on good terms because of the Kashmir dispute and the political tension between these two countries makes this Cricket rivalry even more intense, the game between Pakistan and India is always extremely tense and fans and media of both the countries always hype this match. Pakistan and India don’t play bilateral series anymore, the last bilateral series that they played was way back in 2013 since then they only face each other in ICC Tournaments. The reason that both the countries don’t play bilaterals anymore is that the Indian government doesn’t allow BCCI however, PCB is always ready to play and PCB has been working really hard to resume the bilaterals between the two nations. Since they meet each other in ICC tournaments now so the hype around this match is extremely high because fans from both sides of the border now anxiously wait for this match.

The first ever cricket Series between Pakistan and India happened in 1952 in India. India won the first-ever Pak-Indo game in 1952 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi by an innings and 70 runs which was a Test match and India won the first-ever 5-match Test series, 2–1. Pakistan and India have faced each other 58 times in Tests, Pakistan has won 11 times, India 9 times and 38 games have ended in a draw, out of 15 Test series Pakistan and India both have won 4 Test series respectively and 7 series have ended In draws. In Odi’s both the teams have faced each other 136 times out of which 73 times Pakistan has been the winner and India has tasted victory 55 times and 8 games have ended in No-Result. India leads 7–2 in T20is, overall Pakistan leads India by 87–71 in International cricket. Pakistan has won 1 World Cup (1992), 1 T20 World Cup (2009) and a champions trophy in 2017, whereas India has won 2 World Cups (1983 and 2011), 1 T20 World Cup (2007), and a Champions Trophy (2013) . Pakistan and India are responsible for producing world-class players over the years, some of the most prominent players produced by both countries are; Zaheer Abbas(PAK), Sunil Gavaskar(IND), Imran Khan (PAK), Kapil Dev(IND), Wasim Akram (PAK), Sachin Tendulkar(IND), Shahid Afridi(PAK), M.S Dhoni(IND), Babar Azam (PAK), Virat Kohli (IND) and many more.

Not only International Cricket but India and Pakistan are owners of two of the best T20 leagues respectively, IPL and PSL. IPL (Indian Premiere League) is the biggest league in terms of viewership, brand value and popularity followed by PSL (Pakistan Super League) which is only 7 years old. Leagues are the future of the cricket and Pakistan and India both have understood the assignment very well.

People of Both the countries love cricket and cricket is celebrated as festival in both the countries and I think true lovers of cricket deserve to see both the teams playing bilaterals and players of both the countries taking part in IPL and PSL. The most recent clash between Pakistan and India was last Sunday which India won and the next match between the two teams is tomorrow on 4th September 2022.
