:) The characters are a bit of fun. They require a little work when applying, but after that it’s really up to you how much ‘character’ you want to insert into the submissions. Mainly it is a nice way to give the publication a pulled together look. The Character will make it easier to have a pretty and recognizable story for the members, as you will not need to search for a picture to go with the submissions.

Some people will want to take the character and give them a ‘real’ life while others might not think about them much after creation. Both ways of playing along are fine. The main purpose is heart worthy stories after all.
