We do not pick things up from the ground
Imagine this scenario:
you’re taking a walk down the street with your beloved grandmother, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine,
when suddenly, out of the corner of your eye, you catch a glimpse of something shiny on the ground.
Upon closer assessment, you realize it’s a 10-euro banknote!
You’re ecstatic and want to pick it up, but your grandmother advises you against it for some reason.
Disappointed, you continue your walk with your grandma, but then, to your surprise, you spot a 50-euro banknote!
You can barely contain your excitement and are eager to pick it up this time, but your grandma once again stops you from doing so.
Destroyed hope
As you both walk further, you come across an old chest overflowing with glittering gold coins, but you decide not to acknowledge it, remembering your grandmother’s words.
Suddenly, your grandma trips over the chest and falls to the ground. When she asks you to help her up, you refuse, using the same words she had used earlier:
“No, no, no granny! We do not pick things up from the ground!”
