The airport scene at the end of the essay resonated! As hard as it is, each time, the necessity of gaining the kind of perspective on our “home culture” can’t be understated. If only more people could have the chance to expand their worldview beyond their immediate physical ‘world’ and then return to it, we would be a more gracious people.
