I´ve been obsessed with the idea of youthification of current Society. Do you remember how your parents were, how they looked like and behave when they were forty? Compare them with 40somethings nowadays. They neither look, nor behave like those mature well mannered humans our parents were. And it is not that they are trying hard to recover their lost youth, they are living the way their hearts feel.
I believe Social Media has much to blame on this lifestyle molding. Back in the days, children looked up to their parents as role models. Today, the coin has flipped over. Now, we´ve been given platforms to manifest our true passionate self. We are more than the hats we wear on our everyday´s roleplaying. For the first time in History, it is easy for us to share who we aspire to be with everyone. Life has lot to offer and we want to live it all.
Our means of expression are limitless. We speak a different language. It´s graphic and multimedia. People communicate in Social Idioms.
Marketers need to understand this situation, speak this language, if they want to make their messages resonate. To reach customers hearts, to engage and build relationships with them, it is imperative to learn the Social Language.
Don´t try to reach the 40something, talk to the 18ager with 22 years of experience…
