The music we listen to has a way to warm our hearts and shape us in profound, mysterious ways, no matter the rhythm or the words of it. Music can be a coping mechanism for people, serving as a type of therapy for the way it can trigger and regulate our feelings, helping us to relax, reduce stress and helping us with anxiety. Lyrics and melodies are able to bring us comfort and joy.

Music not only has impact on our feelings but also on our cognitive abilities. Studies have demonstrated that positive music can help us improve our cognitive functions. For example, listening to classical music can lead us to skills like problem-solving and spatial reasoning, this effect is often called «The Mozart Effect». Tunes as a background can help us focus, boosting attention and concentration, increasing productivity.

The music we enjoy and choose can demostrate who we are as a person, reflecting our identities. Genres can attract specific social groups, creating subcultures that contain people with the same special interests and value. The sense of belonging the melodies can cause us boost our connections with other people, often creating a sense of community.

Attending concerts and music festivals, especially with friends, can also create long lasting and important memories, which have the capability to give more strength to the friendship.

Fast-paced, lively and energetic rhythms can elevate our motivation, often helping with workouts or, in general, actions which are challenging. But slow and calm rhythms can help us reduce stress and induce relaxation, creating a sense of relief and connection with the tune itself.

Music Therapy has been introduced in various healthcare settings to help patients reduce their stress and depression, giving them a sense of well-being and tranquility.

Impact on Consumer Behavior

The impact of music goes beyond our mental and emotional senses, influencing also our purchasing behavior. Industries use background music as a strategy to encourage buying, influencing purchasing decisions and costumers perceptions.

Lively background tunes can indulge in impulsive buying, while slower, calmer tempos can make costumers stay longer in stores, increasing their sales.
