Halloween is right around the corner and in the spirit of the season I thought that I would look into one of the lesser explored figures from the golden age of 70s and 80s horror scene. Her real name is Cassandra Peterson but in the world of horror she has many titles. Queen of the dead, Lady of the damned, Mistress of the Halloween but most know her simply as Elvira.
I am not going to be surprised if you never heard of Elvira before. Many haven’t and If I wasn’t a big fan of the halloween tradition I might never have picked up on her work either.
Although even 90s kids like me might remember some cartoon cameos that look a lot like Elvira. Like the character Atrocia from the Cartoon Network show “The grim adventures of Billy and Mandy”.
