Retelling An Old Joke
A local bartender was famous for his lemon drop cocktails and his unbelievable grip strength. So remarkable was this man’s strength that the bar he worked at had an ongoing challenge for $5,000 that nobody was able to win.
The rules of the challenge were simple. The bartender would squeeze a lemon with his bare hands until all the juice ran into a glass and he would use the juice to make a Lemon drop cocktail. Anyone who could squeeze one more drop of lemon juice out of the squeezed lemon would get the cocktail for free and they would win $5,000. Many people have tried over the years, including military men, professional bodybuilders, and mountain climbers, but nobody could do it. One day, a tiny spindly man walked into the bar. He was wearing thick bottle cap glasses and a cheap suit two sizes too big for his frame. He approached the bartender” I’d like to try your lemon challenge, please.” He said with said in a tiny, squeaky voice while he adjusted his glasses. The entire bar quaked with laughter. But after everyone was done laughing, he repeated his request. “Your challenge the one with the lemon, I would like to try it”. He looked dead serious with pure determination behind his glasses. The bartender looked him up and down with a smile on his face and said, “Okay”. He grabbed a lemon cut it in half and squeezed it in a glass until nothing was coming out…
