AusPol Koan 63

Pauline, who ran a fish and chip shop for many years, had recently achieved a leadership position in the village. Pauline didn’t like people from other villages.

One day, down by the lake, Pauline was throwing rocks at a foreigner who was fishing in a boat. Peter approached and asked Pauline why she was throwing rocks at the foreigner. Pauline said she was defending the village and its values.

Peter said to Pauline ‘Give evil nothing to oppose and it will disappear by itself. I will make no further comment in relation to on water matters.’

With these words Pauline became confused and hungry.
