The 10 Reasons I AM Quitting My Job In 2017
Declan Wilson

Thanks for putting this out there Declan, it needs to be heard.

Due to the nature of my business, I see people suffering from this corporate Stockholm Syndrome almost daily. They work 60+ hours a week building someone else’s dream because it’s what society decided was the “right” thing to do.

When asked why they don’t give it all up, the most common response is fear. Fear that they won’t be able to make rent. Fear that they will be ostracized by friends and family. Fear this, fear that. I haven’t had one person come back to me and say, “You know, it is absolutely terrifying. But so is grinding away on this hamster wheel for the rest of my life. I may fall flat on my face, but eventually I’ll recover and it will be on my own terms.”

A friend of mine recently quit his job too. We were discussing a “worst case scenario test” which he implemented before pulling the trigger. He lived like he was dead broke for a week to see how he would handle it. To his surprise, it was fairly manageable — and this was the absolute worst case. The upside was limitless.

Wishing you tons of success in this next step!
