Erwin McManus makes one of the most profound declarations in his book “The Artisan Soul” that “Our demons rarely come at us from the future; most often, they chase after us from our past”. All too often we are bound in shackles by the voices inside our mind that have been shaped by life’s disappointments and betrayals by those who were entrusted with the caring of our souls. These voices at times become paralyzing and almost always keep us from living a life of fullness and purpose. The reality is we have to decide if we are going to listen to those voices or listen to the voice of the One that knows us. God wants to father you in a way only He can, in a way that brings healing and a renewed sense of purpose. Step into creation and away from distraction. You must find silence. You must understand you have a choice to walk free or continue to believe the lies you have formed about yourself. Let God bring the healing and the direction that only He can. Never forget how God uses the power of community around you to bring you to a place of healing. This again is a choice you must make and a decision that only you have the power to walk out. We are often surprised by much we have to give, how creative we are, and how greatly we are loved when we stop listening to the voices of the past and choose a new narrative about who we really are.

Psalm 139:14 ““I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
