Each time I go away, and your beautiful streets are beyond the reach of my fingertips, my yearning for you grows. Though distant as we are at times, you remain on my mind daily. I reminisce about the allure of your scenery and people. I miss your ridiculously over-the-top stereotypes that pervade the smoke and neon of Broadway. I miss the smell of your delectable food and the sound of muffled live music oozing forth from the open doors of your cafes and honky-tonks. I miss your locals markets, bursting forth at the seams with the harvests reaped by farmers both near and far. I miss your hip baristas full of kindness and encouragement. I miss your beautiful architecture, worn smooth by time, yet resounding with history and excitement. I miss your back alleys, the grimey backbone of prestine storefronts. I miss your green trees and rolling hills, that surround completely and pull you in tight like an old friend. I miss your tradition, built upon the successes and shortcomings of our forefathers.
Wherever I roam, I will call you home always. As unique and beautiful as my future suitors may be, I will never find another quite like you. With your flawlessly contrasted natural beauty and modern prowess mingled with ever-present music that is the soundtrack of the people, you beckon me homeward. While I will not see your face for some time, I shall return. Until then, I will dream of you in all of your glory; my dearest Nashville.
