In May 2019, the small town of Sturgis, Michigan, was rocked by one of the most horrifying crimes in its history. Wade Allen, a 39-year-old man, was convicted of murdering and mutilating his girlfriend, Kelly Jean Warner, in a case that has drawn widespread attention due to its brutality. As we delve deeper into the details of this case, it becomes clear that Allen’s actions bear disturbing similarities to some of the most notorious murder cases in recent history.

[Forever Ted is coming soon!]

## The Crime

Wade Allen’s crime was nothing short of monstrous. According to the Michigan Attorney General’s office, Allen strangled Kelly Jean Warner to death, dismembered her body, and stored her remains in two coolers within his apartment. This gruesome act of violence was not an isolated incident; while in custody, Allen sexually assaulted a fellow inmate who had informed authorities about the murder. His brazen behavior and complete lack of remorse shocked even seasoned law enforcement officers.

## The Conviction and Sentencing

Allen pleaded no contest to charges of second-degree murder, attempted dismemberment and mutilation, and attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The court handed down a series of severe sentences: 39–60 years in prison for the murder, 2–5 years for the attempted dismemberment and mutilation, and 38 months to 5 years for the attempted sexual assault. These sentences will be served consecutively, ensuring that Allen will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

## Chilling Comparisons: Wade Allen and Other Notorious Cases

The brutal nature of Allen’s crime inevitably draws comparisons to other infamous murder cases. One such case is that of Robert Pickton, the Canadian serial killer who was convicted of the murders of six women but is suspected of killing many more. Like Allen, Pickton dismembered his victims and stored their remains on his property, creating a gruesome and macabre crime scene.

Another parallel can be drawn to the case of Jeffrey Dahmer, the Milwaukee Cannibal. Dahmer, like Allen, committed heinous acts of violence and mutilation against his victims, storing body parts in his apartment. Both cases involve a chilling level of premeditation and a disturbing detachment from the humanity of their victims.

## Public Reaction and the Call for Justice

The public reaction to Wade Allen’s case has been one of outrage and profound concern. The brutality of the crime and the subsequent assault in custody have amplified calls for stricter punishments for violent offenders. The Michigan Attorney General’s office has praised the work of law enforcement and the prosecution team for their dedication to bringing Allen to justice.

However, this case also highlights the challenges faced by the justice system in dealing with such depraved individuals. Allen’s defense attorney argued that he suffered near solitary confinement for four years while awaiting trial, a claim that many found unconvincing given the gravity of his crimes.

## Sentencing and Rehabilitation

Allen’s sentencing included restitution for the victim’s burial expenses, recovery of court costs of prosecution, associated fines, and lifetime registration with Michigan’s sex offender registry. These measures are designed to ensure that Allen is held accountable for his actions and that he cannot pose a threat to society in the future.

Wade Allen is a monster, as his motive for such depravity is also another factor. He likely committed his crimes for no other reason than he felt like doing so. Reminds me of another guy who looks like he welcomes death.

The case of Wade Allen is a stark reminder of the depths of human depravity and the urgent need for effective legal measures. There’s another Wade I’ve been talking about lately on Shill Kill, who is equally as disturbing! If you haven’t heard of Wade Wilson, I urge you to tune in!
