In the chilling world of true crime, the name Wade Wilson is now synonymous with cold-blooded brutality. Found guilty of murdering two women in Florida, Wilson’s case serves as a grim reminder of the depths of human depravity. This article delves into the horrifying details of the case, the trial that ensued, and the lasting impact on the victims’ families and the community.

### The Crimes

I used my looks and charmed them to get in their heads — Wade Wilson

Wade Wilson’s crimes unfolded over a brief but devastating period in October 2019. His first victim, Christine Melton, was a 35-year-old woman living in Cape Coral, Florida. Melton’s body was discovered in her home on October 7th. She had been brutally beaten and strangled, a harrowing end to a life filled with promise and potential.

Just a day later, Wilson struck again. His second victim, Diane Ruiz, a 43-year-old mother, was last seen alive on October 7th, walking to work. Her body was found two days later in a wooded area, also showing signs of a violent struggle. The murders sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community, which was left grappling with fear and grief.

### The Investigation

The Cape Coral Police Department swiftly launched an investigation, working tirelessly to piece together the evidence. Surveillance footage, witness testimonies, and forensic evidence all pointed to Wade Wilson as the prime suspect. Wilson had a history of criminal behavior, including drug offenses and violent crimes, which made him a person of interest from the outset.

One of the pivotal pieces of evidence was DNA found at both crime scenes, conclusively linking Wilson to the murders. Additionally, Wilson was known to have had interactions with both victims in the days leading up to their deaths. His attempts to evade capture were short-lived, as law enforcement apprehended him quickly with the help of a local businessman whom Wilson tried to receive a handout from during the time of their pursuit.

### The Trial

Wade Wilson’s trial captured national attention. Prosecutors presented a compelling case, meticulously detailing the evidence against Wilson. They painted a picture of a man with a violent past who had escalated to committing heinous murders. The defense, meanwhile, attempted to cast doubt on the forensic evidence and suggested alternative theories about the killings.

Despite these efforts, the jury found Wilson guilty on two counts of first-degree murder. The overwhelming evidence, including the DNA matches and witness testimonies, left little room for doubt. Wilson’s lack of remorse and attempts to manipulate the court further cemented his guilt in the eyes of the jury.

### Life or Death?

Certainly, Wilson warrants death for his callous actions. Given his appearance and lack of remorse, it looks as if he welcomes it, too.

Beginning Monday, June 24th, The jury will hear evidence to establish aggravating factors and mitigating circumstances and recommend life imprisonment or death based on those considerations.

The trial judge decides whether the sentence is imposed.

### The Aftermath

The double homicide committed by Wade Wilson is a tragic chapter in the annals of true crime. As society grapples with the reality of such brutal acts, it is essential to remember and honor the lives of Christine Melton and Diane Ruiz. Their stories, though marked by a tragic end, remind us of the ongoing need for vigilance, compassion, and justice in our communities.

Wilson’s own father, who had given him up for adoption at age 14, is a victim as well. Despite his failings as a father, his testimony proved his son was only out to bankrupt him emotionally and financially. I believe he’ll get death. And because this is in Florida, he won’t linger too long until his number’s called.

Wade Wilson is a Lookalike for Jake Gyllenhaal and also shares the name of the main character in Deadpool. If Hollywood doesn’t come calling soon, Netflix likely will. No one can put a death sentence on that one, but someone certainly should.
