Seduction by Truth” is the story of a man and four women in his life. The story revolves around Shiva who is in his early 40’s, a smart, knowledgeable and successful man. He is unhappy with his married life because of sex lacking in it. Later, he finds that his wife, Akriti has an affair. It’s at this juncture that this novel proves to be wildly different from what one can imagine- no questioning his wife, no quarrel, no breaking his marriage. Instead he decides to take revenge upon his wife by launching himself on the path of adultery, out to prove that he can still attract women. But he wants to know a few more marriages as well. Hence he gets involved in a relationship with three women named Sana, Zeba, and Mary. Shiva is able to attract all these women with his charm and spellbinding oratory. Read this amazing story of Shiva’s journey to explore the reason behind the lack of desire in his married life.

Seduction By Truth

Given below are a few excerpts from the first Chapter of ‘Seduction By Truth’- ‘The Eclipse of Akriti’-This chapter beging with shiva proposing lovemaking to his wife, Akriti-

‘Frankly, I’m not in the mood, but if you are … Akriti says, instantly turning serious, letting her sentence trail off, being as gentle as possible lest Shiva feel hurt. She knows he is an extremely sensitive man.

‘Oh, but I’ve never felt this alive in months,’ says Shiva more quietly, the exuberance leaving his voice.

‘Yes, but you weren’t happy the last time. “No more easy and spontaneous lovemaking”, you’d promised yourself. But if it’s still fine with you, we can…’ Again, the sentence trailed. Akriti was now sitting on the bed, her tone defensive.

‘I agree, there is no forgetting that, but…’ Shiva is reflective, a tinge of sadness unmistakable in his eyes.

‘it’s still a fact,’ Akriti snatches away the words before Shiva can conclude. He is struck by the alacrity with which Akriti cuts short the rest of his sentence. It is explicit that she too has ceased to enjoy sex with him.

‘Don’t you think we should try to bring back those old feelings?’ he asks, more quietly now. ‘These days they have counselings for couples who feel the way we do.’

Akriti escapes into an uneasy pause, absentmindedly on the TV, which she has turned on to avoid looking at him and to demonstrate her lack of relieving the rising tension.
