The Best Makeup on a Budget

I live in Colorado. That means freezing winter days and scorching summer heat. Which aren’t the best conditions for any makeup. I also have hyper-pigmentation which is a fancy word for acne scaring. I’ll also level with you: I don’t have a fortune to spend on makeup. When I splurge I make it worth it. I also do ipsy’s glam bag which is $10/month for “sample” sizes of products. But I’ve gotten a brush with each bag and the makeup samples last forever. Its great if you want to try new makeup out but don’t want to pay a lot for it.

So here’s my list. Most of these can be bought at Target or a pharmacy. You don’t have to shell out for Dior eyelash curlers or Chanel mascara. Bottom line: don’t pay more than $10 for mascara.

Paula’s Choice cleanser $25, this is a great one to have. PC is great about telling you exactly what goes into their products and why. I love this. And it’s huge. For the amount you get it’s a great value.

Vichy Dermablend Foundation $30, this is one of my favourites. It’s a little pricey but honestly it’s amazing. And if you have a great base, the rest of your products will look even better. Spend your money on the base. You can also get $10 off your first order.

Dermablend setting powder $27, this one is also pricey. But I use very very little.

ELF highlighter $3, so inexpensive. And I have bags…terrible bags. This helps. So its a highlighter and concealer. I don’t use it as a concealer since my pigmentation is that bad and it needs the help of my heavy foundation. But for highlighting and contouring its fantastic.

Revlon eyelash curler $5.30, it’s an eyelash curler. Nothing special. It does come with extra rubber things. Very cool.

Maybeline Lash Sensational $8.99, it’s mascara. It stays on. I’m happy.

PC nudes eyeshadow, this was free with a $45 purchase. Oh man I love it. There’s also a sparkly purple in it. I’m a neutral sort of girl, when it comes to my clothing and makeup.

ELF Bronzer $4, four different colours in the block. It just light enough for my fair Scottish skin.

Ecotools kabuki brush $6.99, I love this for working the foundation in and blending it.

ELF brow tool $4, I have dark eyebrows. Somehow that’s terribly hard to find. But this fits the bill and it’s cheap.

Me Me Me brush $21, came in my March Ispy glam bag. I like it. Plus for $10/month it’s awesome…the bag.

Palladio Herbal Mosaic Powder $7.99, so this is one of my favourites. I love the colours. You can go dark or light.

So that’s it. Not too complicated although I’ve been known to make it so. And if your skin is dry like mine consider using an essential oil in the mornings. I love jojoba oil by Edens Garden it’s has the same balance of oils as your face.
