THE GARDENER!

I love writing. I don’t think there is anything else I would want to do.

However, if I were given an option to relive my life doing something else, I would definitely become a gardener.

It’s a noble profession and does no harm to anyone. You have the privilege of spending time in the midst of flora and fauna. Proximity to nature has a therapeutic effect on us. Communicating with trees and plants is an art worth cultivating. We can definitely trust a flower dancing in the wind or a bird joyfully chirping on the bough of a tree. Love and empathy inevitably follow people who live in the lap of nature.

A gardener must experience such great joy when he sees a rose bud blooming or seed germinating into a healthy plant.

Unfortunately, gardening is not a preferred vocation today because it does not offer much in terms of money. However, can money buy happiness?

I have a bit of a gardener in me. My concept of an ideal home is one in the midst of mountains. There should be greenery all around. My window should face the rugged green mountains and would have a couple of potted geraniums to adorn it. Unfortunately, geraniums don’t survive here in Mumbai.

Gardening is a source of joy and peace. Even if we maintain a couple of potted plants on our window pane, we can cultivate the gardener that is within us!
