Recently I have watched a Ted talk video about solitary confinement which enlighten me on a lot of facts and info on top of the knowledge i have on solitary confinement. This is a huge topic for me because i have family in prison currently in solitary or have been in solitary. Each story that has been told to all ended the with the same summed up answer it made them loose reality or grip on life as they would say. Being locked in a cement hole the size of a small bathroom for 23 hours a day and depending on how much time you have in the hole determines the days. Day after dat not knowing what time it is barley seeing the light besides the small 4x4 square they give you i personally think that is enough to make any person feel unstable. Prisoners who have been end in and out of solitary confinement are likely to commit another crime due to them not feeling what reality they belong in.I learned that even though a person has committed a crime an act that caused them to be in jail does not mean they are forced to feel tortured and unstable by the government. What i like best about this Ted talk is the facts she was able to provide and the strong opinion and why she felt the way she did on the topic which made me relate even more to the topic. I believe others should watch this topic on Ted talk to understand the importance of really being equal and treated fairly in america even the people consider the “lowest” we are not the judge only God is.
