Stepping Stones Program at Avalon University School of Medicine
Avalon University School of Medicine Students recently created a platform for all students on campus to attend seminars regarding various topics of interest.
The Stepping Stones program began May 20th, with a seminar by Dr. Arja on preparing for board exams (Steps 1, 2 and 3) and their significance, as well as covering the residency application process and an introduction to clinical rotations.
Continuing this platform, on June 7th, Dr. Yogesh gave a seminar focused on USMLE Step 1 preparation, and the physician’s ability to apply knowledge, concepts and principles. He also discussed how to demonstrate patient centered skills which are important for safe and effective health care.
Following on June 9th, Dr. Praveen’s seminar covered how medical students can effectively involve themselves in research. It was a very well received seminar.
On June 30th, Dr. Arja spoke on guidance for international students on the visa process and clinical rotations.
