What the other mid50somethings said. (For me) my 40s was my most powerful decade. I really tipped the scales of giving far less fucks about what other people thought of me and far more fucks about what my deeper sense of the world was. In my 40’s I got fitter than I’ve ever been. I felt so empowered compared to the tortuous 30's and (OHMYGODITSAMIRACLEIILIVEDTHROUGH) the 20's.
I know that my circumstances and story are mine, not yours, but if you can take a leap of faith that this may be the best decade of your life so far, it just might be.
(Because right at 50 I hit menopause for real and everything changed forever.) (For me) the 50s have been the decade of deep humbling.
It’s all a rollercoaster, but the alternative? No thanks.
