Stopping Trolls Is Now Life and Death for Twitter
Jessi Hempel

I like to imagine how people’s driving behavior would change when they are behind the wheel of a car if the bluetooth and other networking systems in the cars were constantly broadcasting to everyone around them their real name and profile. The low-tech kludge would be to require a nameplate in addition to a license plate, something akin to a Your Driver’s Name Is ____ placard on a shuttle bus.

What’s the social benefit of being anonymous while driving? How does it stack up against the costs?

Now apply that to Twitter, and see what you come up with.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
