Performance art like this goes over most people’s heads — recall that the first Robocop movie was a parody of gratuitously violent action movies? But nobody noticed, and it became part of the genre it was making fun of? Likewise the first Rambo movie? It was anti-machismo and anti-American whitewashing of our faults? But instead it became an enormous franchise fleecing money from the very same segments of the population that it meant to be criticizing/enlightening/educating?
