What there trying to say with the expression “there’s only one basketball” is that if your defense is good at recovering you can always follow the ball and not allow open shots. Another part ofthat statement is that the addition of Kevin Durant to the Warriors is worth less than if Durant went to the Celtics where he would be shooting the ball far more often as well as being focal point of the offense. On Golden State he will be shooting far less than he did as Golden State will have to get Steph,Klay,and him shots. A third point its a far bigger jump to go from a mediocre team to great team than from a great team to a superteam. The difference between a great team and a superteam is just not that big and therefore the KD signing is just not as big a deal as it seems.
