Name and Meaning
AWA means Aksi Welas Asih (Act of Compassion), LOKA (Skt. loka; Tib. འཇིག་རྟེན་, jikten) means a world. So, basically “AWALOKA” stands for World of Compassionate Actions. Awaloka is a web application used as a platform to accumulate virtues collectively by reciting Om Mani Padme Hung mantra and to make Dharma practice as a part of our daily life.
A New Life
This platform is an upgraded version of AksiWelasAsih.com (Act of Compassion) in 2020. Act of Compassion is an online program to collect Om Mani Padme Hung’s recitation initiated by Lama Phurbu Tashi Rinpoche. It came from the compassion and concern about the world’s condition due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, so Rinpoche wanted to invite thousands or even millions of people to recite Om Mani Padme Hung from their homes for the sake of the world’s recovery.
We have successfully accumulated more than 100 Million recitation of Om Mani Padme Hung mantra in 2020 and we would like to continue this program in order to inspire more people in the world.
