Kikkerland Universal Travel Adapter Review
Best world outlet adapter that works In 150+ countries?
This is the only style of plug you should consider. It is small, flat, versatile and can configure to fit almost any outlet in the world. I can’t make that claim absolute, as I haven’t been to every country in the world, but over 35 years traveling for work and pleasure, it fit every country I’ve been to.

This original design was designed and made in Japan and I have had two for many years. Very high quality. These designs are, like a lot of stuff offered on Amazon, Chinese-knock-offs, and the quality isn’t very good. Very stiff springs, for one, and sharp edges for another. Comparing the Japanese-made and Chinese-made products side-by-side, there’s no question these are of inferior quality in fit and finish and tension. However, like so many things, the cheap price put the higher-priced quality manufacturers out of business, so this is all you can find now of this style. Too bad.

For those novice / inexperienced travelers, don’t buy all those country-specific adapters in a bulky bag. Don’t buy those big “multi-country” brick-style adapters, either. They are big and clumsy and often (particularly for many European countries) the PRONGS may fit, but the bulk/fatness of the unit will prevent the prongs from going into the RECESSED outlet all the way. This style doesn’t have that problem. TIP: Many countries outside of the US/Canada/Japan have fairly large a/o higher voltage outlets, and so do not have those multiple outlets at any single location. So using this plug still gives you only ONE outlet to plug your things into. ALSO PACK a multi-outlet adapter so you can plug THAT into this adapter and then have 3 additional outlets to plug your stuff into. Also be sure to pack a compact USB charger with 3 outlets, so you only need to use one of those multi-prong adapters and still have 2 others for other things.
