One notable incident involving Sawda is when the Prophet Muhammad received a revelation allowing him to marry more than four wives, which was normally restricted in Islam. Feeling the burden of taking care of multiple households and recognizing the importance of unity and support among his wives, the Prophet offered Sawda the option to end their marriage while maintaining her financial security and rights. However, Sawda, out of her deep love and devotion to the Prophet, selflessly chose to remain his wife and relinquished some of her conjugal rights so that he could spend more time with his other wives.

As the years passed, the Prophet Muhammad and his wives faced various trials and challenges together, including the migration to Medina and the establishment of the Muslim community there.
