Question of Authority

Dear (fill in name of the Governor of your state here),

If the power of the State comes from the people, then the State could not rightfully exercise any power that the individual person did not already rightfully possess.

If the State is operating under the Rule of Tyranny — the ‘Might Makes Right’ philosophy — Then I am forced to gather power and resources so that I can exercise enough might so that I can defend myself and my loved ones.

If the State is operating upon a Righteous Platform — the even extension of Basic Human Rights to every individual Human being — then society is bound by the moral force of rightness.

Understand that under the laws of tyranny the only rule is do what thou wilt. If someone has something that you desire you have every right to take it, if you can. It is incumbent upon the possessor to defend it. Ones only appeal is to align oneself with powerful forces of like mind. Because, if a more powerful man wants to rape my wife then he has every right to do so if she & I cannot prevent him. Under the laws of tyranny justice IS the will of the tyrant.

Under the dictates of a Righteous Platform the power of the State is directed towards securing societal harmony based upon a set of agreed upon rights. And, if the State operates thusly, then we the people will willfully adhere to its rulings. It is under a Righteous Platform that societies flourish, that freedoms are guaranteed, and that Individual Rights are respected.

Under the Rule of Tyranny a State can claim any power that it can enforce.

Under a Righteous Platform the State will only exercise those powers delegated to it.

I simply ask:

Where does the authority that your office claims the right to exercise come from?

Does the authority that your office exercises stem from the state?

Does the power that the State is exercising stem from a Righteous Platform?

Sincerely,

Black Progressive
