Before visiting New York City ( 5 tips )

Hi everyone!

It has been to weeks since I come back from New York, and I have felt really melancholic hahaha. I miss New York quite a lot and I wanted to share some tips and hacks you can use when you visit New York.

5 tips before visiting New York

Tip #1 — Make Plans

Making a plans for everyday of your trip will help you to have an overview of the things you want to see. I do not miss anything. Besides that you will probably do more research about the things and places you probably want to visit and this will make you feel more excited about your trip.

PS- Remember to leave a day or 2 depending of how much time you will be in New York to recover energy so you are 100% ready to continue.

Tip #2 — Reservations

Normally people make reservations to assure a sat atthe movie theater or another place that requires it. New York might be the exception. I will highly recommend you that you make a plan on when you “will like to visit” f.ex. The Empire State Building or The Statue of Liberty and buy the tickets when you come to New York. What is the advantage? The weather in New York can vary depending on the season you visit but if you buy tickets for the statue of liberty approximately 2 months before you trip you can risk that day might rain, snow or really windy. We took the chance to buy tickets for the statue of liberty 2 months before because we wanted to go up to the crown but it was really cold (2°C / 35°F) that day, and the next day we had (17°C/ 62°F).

Tip #3 — Walk and Remember comfortable shoes 😂!

New York is an amazing city and the best way to discover the magic of the empire state is by walking. I discovered new stores, food, awesome places and nice people just by walking. Don’t be affraid of getting lost, avenues and street are really easy to understand and after few blocks you will become a master. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and warm if is winter. Try to be open to the food places and store, the real New York is mistery you need to discover by walking.

PS. I discovered an awesome restaurant (The Counter) near Times Square because we decided to walk from 34th. Street to Times Square and I can tell you that I tasted the best burger in my life.

Tip #4 — Volunteer Guides

If you want to know more about history and cool places try to find Volunteer guides, they’re really nice people and they can show you sometimes more than a paid guide.

Tip #5 — ASK!

Don’t be affraid to ask local people about something. They will be more than happy to help you. Try asking people about new restaurant or things you might find interesting so they can recommend you the best place they know. 👌

So that is basically my best 5 tips with these tips you will eventually create your own.

I hope you enjoy New York as must as I did and like my post if you found it helpful.

Best regards
